I was in a personal vehicle in South Carolina and was pulled over on suspicion of a DUI. The cop took me in and I blew a .00 then he was going to give me a urine test but the nurse working was throwing a fit because it was time for her to go home. I couldn't pee right there on the spot so he wrote me up for a refusal and my license was suspended for this. I since got a lawyer and the DUI was dropped but I had to plea guilty to reckless driving. Will something like this still show up on my pre-employment reports effectively ending my career?
Would this show up as a refusal on my reports?

I'm assuming yes it will show on your record. Go to the dmv and check it out
but the 1 million dollar question is, what did you do to receive reckless driving. Getting pulled over just for suspicion of dui doesn't just become reckless driving without a reasonmitrucker and truckergambler3 Thank this. -
There's more to this story I think its the op leaving something out.
mitrucker Thanks this. -
I wouldn't have plead guilty to a #### thing...ESPECIALLY not reckless driving or any other "serious" violation...unless, of course, you WERE under the influence (automatic 1 year DQ) in which case a "serious violation" that requires a 2nd conviction to DQ you for 60 days starts to look pretty good.
In other words, unless you were drunk, your lawyer didn't do you (or your CDL) any favors. -
I hate to break the bad news to you but it doesn't matter . The reckless driving charge will effectively end your driving career at least temporarily, five years seems to be the norm but you may find a small 3 or 5 truck outfit hauling timber or containers that may keep you in the game. If you are out of a truck for 12 months they will classify you as a student again so it's important to try to stay in a truck ,you need to have 5 to 7 states to be considered OTR and not local . As far as the refusal no as part of your plea deal the rest of the record is sealed and not viewable. Hope this helps email me directly at lloydlazarus@yahoo.com

Reckless is a very serious ticket.Your career is over for at least 3 yrs.How fast was you driving? What would make the officer think you was drinking?Did he smell it on you or find a bottle on the floor.

I had actually been up way too long and was asleep with the engine running at a gas station. I guess I wasn't over to the side far enough and was slightly in the way of a few cars that were pulling away from the pump towards the stoplight. I was in a deep sleep, they got me out to do a field sobriety test and I tipped and stumbled when standing on one leg. I was not under the influence of any dot drug and I don't drink. Also, which DMV should I check? I had a Kentucky CDL, this happened in South Carolina, and I have since came to Florida to get a regular ID card. I have checked with a few bottom companies that will hire with the reckless, but the refusal is a deal breaker with everybody.
