I hate retreads. See attached drive tire. Is this a big deal?

If it's not below the tread grooves, no. It'll throw that tire a bit out of balance, but it won't hurt anything it is just the tread block ripped off.

EDIT: After zooming in , it looks like that is completely through the retread, and that's a problem. Let's water get in behind the cap and it will be much more likely to get punctured. Unfortunately, that one will have to come off.

I'll give a shot with what I think you're asking. I've seen this happen when a truck goes in pothole in a parking a lot and a tire gets into the bottom of the trailer. A piece of angle iron or channel can do this when run over, or even a sharp-edged curb. A piece of rebar sticking up an inch, right were you applied power. Anyone of a hundred other circumstances that put a concentrated load on that particular tread block.

Oooops, #### right. That was for my other thread. I'll see how deep the hole goes and see if the warranty covers it. Last year I had a 3 month old RT come apart and rip off the mud flap. The shop covered the tire and mud flap replacement.

    Thanks
