Anybody know for sure if you can pull a 53 footer through the Great Smoky Natl Park on US 441?

,the safest way is to go down the Nantahala gorge over to Asheville North Carolina and then go I 40 West. also you can take Highway 294 to Tennessee us 68 north and take that to Sweetwater and get on I75 and go north but I wouldn't recommend that either even though I have done that route. another route is to take 74 West go through the Ocoee gorge to Cleveland Tennessee and then take I 75 all the way up to Knoxville but going through the Ocoee gorge with a tractor trailer isn't the best free either.,honestly I think the best way is to go to Askville and interstate 40.

Commercial vehicles are prohibited thru park. So don't do it.

I wouldn't even try. It's probably pretty curvy like US129.

It's not on the list of NC truck restrictions that I have downloaded from a while back but who knows if that's changed.

I would just run US74 to I40 then US411 to US441 to be safe, to hell with the out of route miles.

Yes. I agree. I live there and have driven my rig every way out of there. No easy way to do it.

They have turnarounds also on both ends. It's steep and curvy, the coal bucket trailers scrubbed dirt on some of the curves I can't imagine what a 53 van would do. I don't know how much the ticket would be, but it's not worth the miles saved trust me. Grab 40 and be safe.

I ran US50 across West Virginia once. Learned a hard lesson that trucks and Appalachia don't mix!
