I just sent you a PM. Look in the upper right-hand corner of the main forum page and it should say something about Private Messages.

Look forward to talking with you!

Other drivers

Hey Socy,

I'm just getting started at this OTR thing but I'd be more than happy to talk to you about my experience as a driver in the oilfields. Someday soon i'll have my 50, but if you drop me a PM I'll get you my contact info. Good luck.

Nick

I just sent you a PM Socy grad. I'd like to help you out. I'm a retired driver, married to a driver, and daughter of a driver who has 30+ years under his belt.

Yes... Thanks (as always) to Cybergal for forwarding your message.

I've had a lot of positive response in the last few days, so thanks to those who have contacted me.

I had set a personal goal of conducting 20 interviews by the end of August, and it looks like I'm going to fall a bit short. So if anyone was still considering participating, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for all the help folks!

- Dan

Just a note to all -

I did the interview thing with Dan yesterday.

It was relatively painless and the will be little - if any - scarring.

Actually, it was kinda fun. Dan's an easy guy to talk to, and he definitely seems to be interested in our world.

If you are balanced on the fence, I'm here to give you the little nudge to push you over and give Dan a call.

It sure would help if I was the opposite sex or better looking though...

I need at least 20 completed interviews by the fall, and I only have about half of that right now, so I might as well try. I'm also working on getting some "business" cards to give to folks who would like to participate, but don't have the time at the moment.
I'd just go to Wal-Mart and buy the business cards you print at home and break apart. If you get the quality ones from Office Depot or Staples, they usually turn out pretty nice--just make sure you know how to print business cards in whichever word processor you may use.

I don't know what I'd have to offer, but I've got a short way to go and a long time to get there.

Lurch is absolutely right. It was painless as can be. I got so into the conversation, it ended up nearly 2 hours ( I definitely have the gift of gab.)

Lurch & NickyBobby are correct - absolutely painless interview. It was very easy, laid back, and Dan is a very easy person to talk to. I'll add my nudges for those considering the interview.
