You will take a pay cut of at least 50%

And you will be dealing with the kids who couldn't graduate but got jobs as lumpers and now they control your wage by making you wait for loading and unloading while they giggle and smoke weed.

I don't agree. 15 x 40 = 600 a week. x 52 = 31.200 He can make more than that his 1st year. School janitors usually do not get overtime hours.

I usually tell newbies to expect 30-40 grand the 1st year, but that depends on the co and the driver. Our avg is 52.5 the 1st year and I know other newbies that have broke 50 the 1st year with other companies, but that is rare. I say go for it. You won't know till you try it.

The sad part is, you'll still be dealing with children all day. If it's not the twirps on the docs, it's the morons in the 4-wheelers, or even a significant percentage of other truckers. Age is of no concern - a LOT of people act like spoiled 2-year-olds, and get away with it.

What makes trucking so attractive to me is simply that the environment changes constantly. Helps me deal with ignoring all the me-first people out there.
