| CDL Class B -- and got tested (positive) for cocaine I have a question - has anyone who ever failed a DOT random test, then went to the classes and submitted to drug tests for 6 weeks, ever get another job driving again with a Class B? My across the street neighbor was working for a trash company, and has been "dumping cans" for 16 years. He got a random, was fired, but his company said if he goes to counseling and submits to drug tests, he'd get his job back. Well, he spent 6 weeks ($40 twice a week) to see a counselor, attended AA meetings, and did pee tests. At the end of 6 weeks, he got a copy of the letter his counsling program sent to the DOT. In it, it said he went through all 6 weeks, was negative for any banned substances, but also said he has a high likelyhood of relapse, and suggested he keeps going to counseling ($40 twice a week) and keep doing random tests. My friend thinks he'll NEVER get a job "dumping cans", or do anything with his Class B. What does everyone out here think? I feel really bad for the guy... he's been selling all his furniture and saying he'll never make the money he did ever again. But, if he did the required classes for the DOT, couldn't he get a second chance? |

| re post no this is America the home of the free, once you test positive and aren't an american idol, your pretty much done.....Might want to move to brazil..... tell him next time to stick to the hard liquor , in america hard liquor is legal..... you can only get cocaine/marijuana from your doctor ![]() now if you were an american idol and were caught using drugs they'd make a t.v show about you, going thrugh rehab and such, you could make millions.. advice: pick a talent and and perform at the next American Idol Best advice: Since in the bible it says God doesn't like idols/people to be idolized, i'd suggest looking into a desk job, or different line of work where your not driving a huge Truck.... | I saw a recruiter on another board tell a guy that usually a minimum of 2 years. However, it can be very hard. While I myself don't see much difference between booze and most illicit drugs, he knew he was subject to random tests. Same with guys that drink and drive. I like my liquor, I only drink at home, and never less than 24 hours before having to work again. |

| He made the choice to use drugs so now he's got to pay. I would think he's lucky that he can still have his a job. I would bet that every substance abuse professional (SAP) would say the person has a high recidivism rate. I guess it's a way to protect their jobs. |

| A guy I used to work with tested positive for the same thing but the company we worked for had to pay the counsling and when he was done he come back to work . After I quit I heard he tested positive again, I'm not sure what happened after that but I believe he is back driving dump truck for them again |

follow the Money Trail. SOMEbody is makin' bank. And it obviously isn't your friend. At this point, it's ALL about your friend's money goin' into someone ELSE'S pockets. And there's NO guarantee your friend WILL drive a big truck again, legally anyway. Maybe an off-road mining operation would hire him though. Man-0-Man! Sixteen years down the drain like a wasted investment. That's sad. I wonder, does he think it was worth it? |

| He's just another whipping-boy example The powers that be don't want us to do drugs, so they crucify those who disobey. This is so those who stray can be used as examples for everyone else. Ruling Powers: "Little Johnny, see what happens to you when you use drugs?" Little Johnny: "Yes, papa, I see. I don't want to be like THAT guy. Look what happened to HIM." Example-making works. Someone else said something about what the guy should do. Well, he could move to some other place in the world. He could try changing his ID. He could get life insurance with a suicide clause and cut out in about a year. That's about all he will have as options, as he did disobey the elite rulers. I know people who've stolen 10 bucks in merchandise, got busted, and still have it screw them over after 20 years. The powers don't want people stealing, either.
