dumbest thing huh....how mcuh time do we have here?

I dont know if Id say any where necessarily dumb...but moments of learning, lol.

One time I tried to sneak into the back of a customer I deliver to and it was icy...I got stuck on the way in because I slowed down and lost traction. Tried the next day and got in fine, but got stuck in the same spot on the way out...there was a dip on the far side of the corner that I got stuck in.

Another time I was setting up for a 90 sight side back and got too close to a shoulder in the winter...and while i wasn't in the snowbank to start off...I somehow managed to get stuck in there pretty good as the truck kept sliding in that direction no matter which way I went. Stinkin F150 was able to pull me out.

Another time my batteries died as I didn't let he truck run overnight on a cold night...drained them trying to start them (this was before I boguht a can of "wake up, dang you" fluid. ) The driver who met me in the morning had a bright idea of takign a few straps, wraping them in a big rope and pullling me to pop the clutch...not sure how to do that in a big rig. ANywho...the strap came off, arched up in the air and cracked the heck out of my windshield.

One of the biggest things I learned was winter driving. Im from MN originally so Im comfy with driving on snow and ice; and while another driver told me Id be more comfy in the truck...I don't see it. I mean...I kept spinning the wheels on surfaces I was positive to get traction. Id swap loads and have a heck of a time moving forward and would have to rock back and forth a couple of times. Same thing at a few truck stops...the ruts get so bad that you have a heck of a time leaving the island...and if you get the trailer up on a rut or something, it slides down and towrads another trailer.

This one was just dumb and I had been driving for over seven years.

I backed under a trailer, hooked everything up, released the brakes and it wouldn't go anywhere. I though I might had forgot to pull a chock but no chock. I tried again and no luck.

It was night time so I finally got my flashlight and checked my airlines. Yep, had them reversed. Boy, did I feel like an idiot.

I also forgot to disconnect the air and electrical lines once while dropping a trailer. They make a very loud noise when they hit the back of the cab.

Lol! We had a driver come up to us once telling us that he couldn't move the truck, the brakes must be locked. Upon observation, the red line was hooked to the blue glad handle and vice versa blue to red. This guy was "astonished" to find out that the lines and handles were = COLOR-CODED!!!

I was sitting at a shipper getting loaded and a guy came in hooked up to the trailer in the dock next me. He got out hooked his lines went in to get his PPW came back out got in the truck drove off.

Was wondering if you see what I left out...........
He drove off down the driveway, street with the doors open. We tried to catch him, but he made it onto the highway from what we could see with the doors open...................
