I just want to Thank all of you for your replies. Sorry i have not responded to the pm's I have read them all. I have been sick the past couple of days, I think it has been the stress of getting the truck back, which was returned today in excellent condition. He even cleaned it on the inside(amazing), and I did find out some info that once I stopped and thought about it made perfect sense. When you have an employee, and you fire them their obligation to you is over. But yet we were still responsible for paying him since he did do the work. And as far as that truck goes hubby, is not sure what he is going to do. He doesn't know if he wants to keep having the resonsibility of making sure another family is taken care of. But for those of you that pm'd me give me a couple of days and I will get back to you .

it's not hubby's responsibility to feed other families. His responsibility in that regard stops at YOUR family. So.. the question is - does he better provide for you with one truck, or two?

I'ts not some "cheezy quote". It's a basic philosophy. I am not my brother's keeper, nor is he mine.

"responsibility for all they do wrong" is a different responsibility entirely - and not even remotely close to entirely true. If it were, carriers wouldn't be ABLE to let drivers dangle in the legal breeze when the driver does something stupid.

He bears - as a business - some responsibility for his drivers actions, yes - but the instant they step over the line into illegality, he and his business are - effectively - free and clear (assuming, of course, the business follows the rules itself)

yes, he's responsible for paying me on time - but that's a business responsibility, not personal. He's paying to get a job done, not to feed anybody.

He is NOT responsible for my family and the feeding thereof. That's my job. If I can't pay my bills on what he pays me, it's up to me to either ask for a raise, or work somewhere else.

Does this mean he can't be concerned about my family? No. But he's no more responsible for their well being than I am for yours.
