:biggrin_25512:You do not have to wait 3 years as long as you are a first timer you can get the expungement paperwork started today and you do not need a lawyer to do so. I had a fight with my first husbands mistress spent a night in jail and I went to court and the judge dismissed it. I had a back ground check done and it was there lost a job behind it :biggrin_2553:so I went to the courthouse filled out the paperwork paid the fee I think it was $100.00 and 2 months later(give a month or two) I received a letter saying it was granted and it is not on my background record anymore. Also, How did you plee? if you were found guilty you should start the paperwork right now for a Pardon from the Govenor; the process is longer but worth it and once you get pardon than file for expungement. Look for local companies small ones because big ones Like Werner, England, TMC,etc are very picky because so many people want to be truck driver the field is being overloaded and these companies will **** you and not even kiss you first and protect your DAC report I wish my current husband 's school had told him this. His school don't even know what DAC report was. Well if you have anymore ? just PM me. All is not lost.:biggrin_25517:

Thank everyone for your comments and support. I wanted to let you all know that I was finally able to get hired on, and have begun the process of training with a mentor. Surprisingly enough it was a large company that finally brought me on, although I don't really think I will disclose the name at this time.

Make sure that you tell any future employer that runs in and out of Canada, about your expungement..Canada has this thing they call undesirables...You may make it across the border but then get stopped for an inspection at a weigh station,,thier laws are different... But you could be placed Out of service and be escorted from the country..Usually by the driver that comes to collect the load and truck..

Even if you are a couple months behind on child support..you can be considered an Undesireable in Canada..

The company I drove for,for over ten yrs. ran Canada Alot..They didnt care about something that had been expunged...But they wanted you to tell them...

So as not to cause an international incedent...

    See ya down the road...sumwrnusa

Glad you found a job. Was going to tell you that I also have a felony and that Transam hired me. They are just another starter company and can really drive me nuts but........my foot is in the door.

I have a friend whose record is longer and worse than yours. His record included domestic violence (3 times), assault which was reduced to disorderly conduct, and many driving violations, not including the number of suspensions for failure to pay child support. :biggrin_2552: He ended up getting a job with Swift Transportation. It may not be the best company to drive for but at least he has a job. :biggrin_255:
