DAC
Hello,
I worked for Werner few years back. I took a leave for a wedding in california. I requested to be sent to Omaha, NE to drop the truck off.
I was working out of Tomah, WI at the Walmart D.C. my dispatcher (who was out of Tomah, WI) told me to leave it there as long i would come back. Well another non-driving job contacted me while in california and offered me much better paying job but they required me to start right away. So I never returned to Tomah, WI they were pretty upset for not giving them a two week notice. But now i'm laid off looking for a driving job.
My question is would Werner charge me a abandonment on my DAC?
Thanks your help!

I wouldn't expect that to not be there.

Did you not think that not returning to the truck, not giving them a two week notice, and leaving the truck 'out of position' would make them a little upset?? if you didnt think so, you are kidding yourself. Think if you were a small truck company, and you had a driver do that, and leave a truck 1000 miles out of position, and 'abandon' it.
You do right, you get done right....for the most part. =)

Thanks guys for your input. I'm going to apply for all the major companies out there including Werner. We'll see what happens.. Keep in mind I did ask dispatch about five times to be sent to Omaha to return my truck. Each time they said no just leave it here (tomah) He also said take everything out of the truck just incase we give it someone else. Then when you come back we'll find you another one. But I believe they were pretty upset with me since I took higher paying job back home and not giving them the two notice..
But then again who knows.. Thanks again for your input!

.
A year ago, it wouldn't have mattered. But you can bet it will be there, and it will affect your ability to get a job.

Information on a DAC report may remain there for as long as 10-years depending on the data.
