ybr69...I'm not sure about the CinCity...but best thing to do is head on down to the main mail hub (this is where the mail from all the local post offices are collected). All the mail is pulled by contractors so take a look at the trailers and daycabs of guys hauling mail out of there. Or try calling the hub and they should give you a list of all the contractors who run out of the Cinci hub. Then call each one up and see if they need drivers.

Some of the ones I see in Ohio are:
    Eagle Express Lines
    URSA
    Trojan Horse
    Mail Contractors of America (MCA)
    Kutchenrither

If I can find anymore, I'll give ya' a shout-out!

Avoid Beam Brothers out of Northern VA.

they run junk trucks, work 7 days a week and you DO NOT get paid for layovers, time on the yard or in the shop or waiting on another driver.

They will lay you over for the weekend and it pays nothing.
They run hot sometimes but give you a 62 mph truck...

I was doing 12 to 14 hour days and they would pay for 9 and tell me that was what the USPS paid for that route.

They made it sound great at orientation then stick it to you...

I drive for a mail contractor part-time on the weekends.
    It's easy $$$$.
100% drop-hook....I hook to my trailer at the DC, one stop along the way, meet another driver at a truckstop, swap trailers, then boogie on back home.
    All turnpike.
Pay is $25.00/hr...paid for everything NO FREEBIES!!!!
Run is about 610 miles round trip...works out to $325 gross.
Nice payday, easy work, all daytime driving.
Electronic logs...no need to fill out a paper log.

    A word of caution, tho:
Some contractors are nothing but third-rate thieves.
They will underbid honest contractors by hiring idiots and screwing them on pay.
    Others run junk equipment.
And will force you to run hot.
So be very careful who you sign up with.
Because not all contractors are the same.
Paddington, good advise, $325 gross, how much money for fuel for that run? Or are you using all of there equipment?

I work as an employee for the contractor and drive his truck and trailer.
He pays bi-monthly and gives us a W-2 at the end of the year.
From what I've gathered, the contractor is making approx $55.00/hr off that run...which is re-bid every 4 years.
The way the Post Office does it is they figure the run takes X amount of hours based on mileage, avg speed on roads, load/unload time at postal facilities, etc...and they pay $55.00/hr times the total amount of hours.
For this particular run, I figure the contractor is grossing about $55.00/hr for the run X 13 hours or about $715 per day.
He pays us $24.00/hr X 13 hours (or about $22.00/hr if you take the bennies).
The fuel is actually paid by the US Government, they give us a government fuel card to fuel the truck.
We can only fuel at certain truckstops...Pilot is the only big truckstop chain I know of that will accept the card.
