Hmmm interesting.

Most drivers in my area moved to 19 after the CB craze of the 70's caused 11 to be almost useless.

Yeah Thank you Smokey and the Bandit!
That Ca and I5 deal is just a liberal thing! After we decided on 19 as the trucker channel and the craze going the way it was CA tanker drivers ran CH15 so most of the CA drivers went down to 15 because the tanker yankers were doing 2 or maybe 3 runs a a day and had all of the info! Then some wise guy decided that 15 was to covered up and came up with 17 going north and south. And it has stuck ever since! I still have to remember to change channels and it's a pain in the neck!
I vote to just go back to all CH19 on the west coast and be done with it! CB radio traffic isn't that bad on the west coast as it is with the children on the east coast!
Let those who speak other languages have 15, 17 or what ever but 19 only for trucking!
Now in case of some moron base station or idiot throwing a dead key, trash talking or trying to be a bad arse or way to much radio traffic alone we should have an alternate channel to fall back to "in case of emergency!" I'd say a channel far enough away from 19 so we don't get any of the cochannel from that "big" radio! Something like 29 or 30 and it would be like a 10 mile radius from said wanna be CB operator. This plan would be especially good if there was a bad wreck or traffic jam and Mr. Moron is trying to cover the channel up. Even come up with a hand signal to change to the alternate ch like a "jack off" hand pump signifying a jerkoff has the channel covered up go to alternate! But I'm getting old and my mind is starting to wander!

Running dumps in SO-CAL we used 4 and 10 for most jobs.....13 for running in the South Bay......
Then switched back to 19 heading to the landfills or the quarry's.....

Yeah, I run up through the woods most nights. If I'm on 80 it's not on 19.

When I started running out west I remember switching to another channell west of Phoenix. Maybe 17 or 21? Anybody remember that?
When I started running back out there in '98 they had quit doing it by then.
