Why is it always "my friend" or "this guy I know" that get's those tickets? Weird....

As far as getting tickets for 4 over or 3 over.... it's in your attitude. I know quite a few LEO, both on the state level and local levels, and they say if you have an attitude with them they would write you for 1 over. I have received plenty of those little yellow "warning" papers from the OHP. They do give them. Again, it's attitude.

The 55 signs are either being covered up or taken down. Depends on what the county highway departments want to do. But it's on the Interstates only.

Driving I-76 through Akron yesterday I saw a split-speed limit sign: 60 for cars, 55 for trucks. Outside the city, of course, the old 55 signs are down. Does anyone know if split speed limits will remain in effect in some of the cities, or if this sign was just overlooked?

The speed limit for trucks was only raised in "rural" areas out side of populated cities and on interstates.

Oh its all about the attitude when you get pulled over if the guys gonna give you a ticket or not. I was rolling down US-6 heading to Napoleon one night about midnight. Local bear clocked me at 55 in a 45, didnt slow down fast enough coming into a really small town, one if you blink you're through the town. He pulled me over and I was as nice as can be apologized cause I really didnt see the 45 sign cause I was watching the truck that had been tailgating me trying to pass me since the interstate. So he let me go with a verbal and said take er easy them napoleon cops over there arent as nice as me.

Right. But in this area the posted speed limit for cars is 60, and for trucks is 55. On other interstates in Canton and Youngstown where the limit also drops to 55 or 50, it's the same speed limit for both cars and trucks. I didn't know if they were doing away with all splits or not.

I'm also not sure that most of the people that live their are even aware of it. I have a good friend who lives off of I-75 in Troy and i was talking to him yesterday and he had no idea. He usually keeps up on alot of stuff so most of them may not even be aware of the change.
When they do this do what I do here in Texas. When I need to move over, and they don't allow it, and want to ride right next to me. I then start to move over any way. When they see that my trailer is about 6 inches or less next to pushing them off the road, they finally wake up and realize o ###### and move over LOL...

Yeah I was heading for the soup can. Luckily it was a preloaded trailer so never had to wait there.

As was explained to me by a state trooper, it was to raise the truck speed to 65mph on the rural interstates. Not an elimination of the split speeds.
