I have been off the road for over a year. Can anyone help steer me to any good companies that are hiring right now? Thanks

We are in the same boat but we can't send private messages to each other either because we need to make 50 posts on here to be able to do that. So I'm going to get my 50 posts in & it would be nice for you to do the same thing maybe we can help each other. Thanks, Mary

I live in WV and I cant even get anybody to call me back after filling out there on line applications. I called a few after I got no response from them and they told me with no recent OTR they couldnt help. I just wish they would update their websites for hireing criteria so I wouldnt waste my time filling out the applications. You take your time filling out the application you would think they could give you a call or send you an email stating they recieved the application and that you didnt meet their criteria right now.The great JB Hunt wanted to talk to me but I looked at their website and yeah they wanted me to lease one of there crap trucks.Thats the only way they will hire in WV. I didnt want to work for them anyway and not exactly sure how they got my info.

Some of you guys/gals really need to consider relocation. I've asked about posting some of the jobs in my area within the forum. But got the direct/redirect method answer.

We consistantly have job listings in our regional paper, for OTR and regional drivers. However, they do not hire from out of state.

Are they top shelf companies? No, but they do treat drivers better IMHO. There are some exceptions, and most anyone who works in this area can tell you who to avoid.

Things work differantly here. IE. I am considered an OTR driver, even though I get home every weekend.

The cost of living is much lower. And people actually wear shoes here. And they don't all keep their teeth in a glass at night.

PS: I don't know anyone who is married to their sister/brother.

The problem with relocation is it cost money to do that and well thats what I dont have right now.The term it takes money to make money applies.(lol)

It sounds like there are other people that are in the same boat as i am. I will spend alot of time putting in applications for these different companies and then wont even get a response. Last week i got a call from two different recruiters stating that they wanted me to fill out there apps. and that they would process them and get back to me. Well i am still here and have not heard a word from them. Unreal!!!!!!!

I remember a few years ago I would get info packets and calls all the times from companies wanting me to come drive for them when I wasnt even looking for a job and now I cant even get a response when I apply.Things have really changed.
