I think qualcomm might have figured out that little trick.
Also with lowboys you do that and the brakes bleed off and trk. / trl. roll away.
Not all trls. have to have maxi brakes.

Want to not get messages while asleep. Hang the keyboard out the window! and then put their phone number on you cell on SILENT mode! Sleep well! -
There are many Swift drivers that know how to do this as Swifts idle policy is 30% the last I heard. That is all I will say.

Powder Joints Thanks this.

Mine was just over 4 minutes and the only way to go longer was for the truck to move. Otherwise shutdown here we come. -
What does "no signal" and the red light on the Qualcomn really mean?

our Volvos you stab the brakes and it quits shutting down. Mine is an '07 and doesn't have that "feature." -
I ran into this problem at a RR Crossing. DOT Bear was sitting at the crossing looking for those idiots that run the crossings. He heard me pop my brakes, when the engine shut off, and got out to "talk" to me. Asked me why I shut my truck off, and why I popped my brakes. I told him the truth about the anti-idle stuff. He wrote out a ticket to the truck (not me YAY!). Told me to get it "corrected". Company paid the ticket, and they took the anti-idle thing off my truck. -
Let me get this Right in my Head those of you with "idle" Control in your Truck. Your Truck shuts down will not idle while you sleep?
WTF do you have an APU? How in the hell do you sleep, get up every 3 minutes mash the brake or restart?
I worked for an O/O who decided to lease his Equipment to Big Company in Omaha, NE (without calling out the name first to do Electronic Logs) well he let them put them Qualcomms on his trucks, That was the first laugh.
E logs, First trip out of Omaha after being at the Taj Mahal, was to Denver terminal, made it no problem, got there sent me back to Omaha, this went on for 4 days, Needless to say I was used to paper. Went to bed in Omaha left truck running, Qcomm goes off, Safety Message "you have been idling for 7 hours" I replied I am in the bunk on line 2 what is your point?
Safety replies " it is against company policy to Idle Shut your truck off"
I reply " that is good for your company drivers"
I then get a ration of crap from this moron on the QC, all the time I am in the Bobtail parking right near the building. This moron went on for over an hour while I was supposed to be in the bunk , Now I am pissed I call the O/O who I have at this point worked for about 3 years, he says go inside and talk to them,( back then I was not much on communicating with idiots short temper) No Problem I tell him, throw on my pants, grab my cowboy hat and off in the building I go looking for Safety not knowing my way around. Find it, find the moron, and Ask what the problem is. He again informs me no idle Policy, I try to explain that this is an O/O truck not a Company truck, Driving a 379 that was Pearl in color, His boss comes out as he is now yelling at me and I am ready to rip off his head, ( you get the picture yet) well he suggest we go look at the Qcomm records. No problem, this turd ball informs me I should have changed my Status on the Electronic Logs after my second message, Terminates our lease to them for Illegal Logs. Call the boss, he laughs say get my rigs out of there ( we had 8 leased on and 5 of us were in the Omaha yard. I tell em no problem, ( I did not know squat about qcomm and the removal) We get in line at the maint shed to get crap off truck, tells me I need a letter to remove the equipment, So again another call, within the hour I had the Dome, and keyboard, and the dang box from under the bed out of the truck put the junk in a box drove off. Just happy they had not stickered the trucks yet. Had temporary signs on. But any company who will not let their drivers be comfortable can kiss my redneck hind parts..dino6960 Thanks this.
