I think I may have made someone angry! ( Did I do that?) I was ready to go to work at 0600 this am. but the 1st load I got didnt deliver till 1100. I got up and drove the trl 3 miles (thats right 3 miles) to Costco, sat for 90 mins and drove 3 miles back to our SLC yard.
I was told yesterday that I was supposed to get a load to New Albany, MS. Well after 1 hr and 3 msgs telling dickspatch I was ready to work, they finally sent me the load info!
I drove 49 miles to Springville, UT where I sat for 7.5 hrs waiting to get loaded! Now that I've been up 12 hrs, I'm going to bed till sunrise and start the trip when the sun comes up.
You know if these slow customers were forced to pay drivers to sit and wait, I dont think we have to wait a whole lot! But who cares we are just a bunch of unskilled laborers and our time is worthless to them!

Really uneventful day, just drove my 11 hrs and managed to get from Springville, UT to some little town halfway between Denver and KS. Not due in New Albany, MS till the 24th. oh yeah, my new granddaughter is doing great! I cant wait to see her in person!

Just didnt feel like driving another 2 hrs so I stopped # the Pilot in Boonville, MO. The reason I just gave up was I was lead to believe that I was going to be home on Monday, Now it looks like I MIGHT be home on Thursday! My dickspatcher outright lied to me! I so tired of being angry. It just takes too much energy. I just wanted to go home, see my new grand-daughter and my wife! I was told some Bravo Sierra line about not having any freight that would get me thru home. I wouldnt believe them if they told me the sky was blue and the grass was green! There is a radio show on the satelite radio with Mojo Nixon as the host that sums up how I feel about my employer! It's called "Lying ****suckers".

oh yeah R280 steer tires, whatever that means. and the company (arent they great?) decided to only change 1 tire. So I'll bet 2 DOZEN doughnuts the other one (which was starting to show some wear) wont last another 10,000 miles!

It just isnt my day! I was going to leave our yard in Olive Branch, MS at 1900 and drive to Jackson, TN for a 0900 delivery. Well, I went to hook up to my trl and the reefer unit is showing alarm codes and is not running! I reset the alarms and powered it down, waited a few minutes and turned it back on. It was supposed to -10 degrees, it had warmed up to 26 degrees!
I got it running and it started cooling. So I called our shop, they were worthless. They had no idea what the alarm code was (#32 low refrigerant) or what might be wrong with it. They wanted me to stay in Memphis to get it fixed, but it was running and cooling off. So the ever impatient driver that I am decided to run to the customer 89 miles away.
Well I got 1 hour away and it quit running again! So I stopped and reset the alarm and turned back to memphis. I got 2 miles down the road and then got stuck in a 45 minute backup for a real bad rollover accident. I finally made it to Thermo King and the tech says it doesnt look good! I'll probably lose the load cuz it's already too warm! Worst part of the story, this is a brand new trailer. It has only 1232 hrs on the reefer!
So I drove 109 miles, worked 5 hrs and havn't made a dime yet!
Aint trucking great?

Another week of indentured servitude to the Knight family! I believe if I hadn't made such a big issue over that bald steer tire, I would have had a better week! These companies always have a way of making life difficult for any driver that makes trouble for the company. It just gets so old, you try to do the right thing, legally and professionally, and if it costs the company money they want to break their foot off in your backside!
