How about if I do like some of them do....Park next to you while you're sleeping and siphon your fuel.

I'm joking! But there wouldn't be any paper trail now would there?

Why show 30 min to drop & hook? I have never shown more than 15 min and never been questioned about. Guess every company has their rules but 30 min to drop & hook is just plain silly to me. I can drop & hook and do the necessary inspection in 15 min plain and simple, why use an extra 15 min. If company requires you show 30 min fine, otherwise show 15 min and get GONE!

10/13/09

585 miles driven
10.75 hrs logged, (14 hrs worked)
$198.90 earned
Damn! finally a good day! Almost. I dragged am empty trl 350 miles from Albuquerque to Guymon, OK to drop/hook a preloaded trailer that was actually waiting on me! I do a fairly good pretrip and discover a major air leak in the emergency air line under the trailer. Upon closer inspection, it looks like some idiot, who did not want to take the time to fix the leak correctly, took !ELECTRICAL! tape and a !HOSE CLAMP! to splice together the two pieces of hose that were torn on two! Needless to say, not exactly up to DOT standards.
I, against my better judgement, drove 1.5 miles to a repair shop, where they spliced the line back together the right way. 15 min job, but my company (arent they awesome!) took almost 2 hrs to authorize payment on the bill for $98.17! I will be buying the repair kit ($10) for this type of job so in the future I can do it myself and then I can charge Knight $50 for the work! (As if they would pay me!)
Anyway finished out the day at 2100 and 585 miles, not too bad! Only because I did not have to deliver a load (did that the day before) and my p/u was a drop/hook that was ready when I got there. Too bad every day wont be like this one! Bye for now.

The whole timeI am doing this, I neither see or hear the dockworker with the forklift. Now at this point, You might think I am done right? Me too! Wrong!!
As I start to pull out of the dock (no lights or dock lock BTW), the dock worker attempts to enter my trailer with the last 2 pallets of my load. He rides the forklift off the dock, into the pit!
I think I saw that video posted here somewhere! But it just reminds me as to exactly why I pull flatbed!

Other wise like the rest of you said the DOT or Lawyers will find it out!
I love owning my own truck & trailer! It's just the freedom involved with no one looking over my shoulder & sending me messages over a computer that won't be installed!

You know I felt bad that the guy got hurt but I didnt feel RESPONSIBLE!
And as far as someone looking over your shoulder, Big Brother is coming! If you want to stay in trucking, you are going to have to deal with it!

Obama will be remembered as America's first BLACK POTUS...and nothing more.....
Can you keep Obama in the political forum, please? I know this will be difficult for you, but try really hard, ok? Thank you!
