630 miles driven
12 hrs logged, (14)
$214.20 earned
About the best I could do today! I started at 0845 and drove till I had 11 hrs driving. Trucking would be ok if we never had to deal with slow customers!
I stopped for fuel at our Kansas City, KS terminal. We have 2 fuel islands there. Out of the 4 pumps there, only 1 was working!
Can someone explain to me why a mutli-million dollar corporation doesn't have the money to fix their fuel pumps? And if that wasn't bad enough, the 1 pump that did work did not shut itself off when the tank was full! I wondered why there was a ton of kitty litter all over the parking lot and the whole place stank of diesel fuel. I was told a driver starting pumping fuel and got distracted. The pump didnt shut off and he dumped a butt load of fuel on the ground! I wonder what the EPA would say about that???
On a good note, I found probably the best kept, secret truckstop! Off of I-55, south of Bloomington, exit 145?. The Dixie restaurant and truckstop, had LOTS of parking at 2100 tonite. It was reasonably clean. But the highlight was my meal, a 1 lb ham steak with hash browns and toast. It was almost more than I could eat! and delicious!!! In all my 15 years, I've never stopped here before, but I plan to make this a regular stop anytime I'm in the area!

glad to see things are picking up for you, Dave

dunno if it is the more liberal logging, or just having your own truck back, and getting out of loaners, but you seem a lot happier

hope it keeps going your way, man

I think it's all of the above! It is amazing how much easier it is to do my job when my attitude doesnt stink as bad as the truck did! And the fact that I have not bumped a dock since Sunday morning might have something to do with it also! (Damn those slow, uncooperative customers!)
