But I'm sure you know the standard response to that complaint:
"You should have planned you trip better!" I HATE THAT RESPONSE! My answer to that is to tell them "My plan only included 2 hrs to load(unload) not 6 hrs(or whatever time they wasted)!

Logging as you are, if you work shorter days to avoid the reset, and work 7 days a week till home time, you will be able to log more driving hours. You get to use 100% of your 70 hours every 8 days. If you reset after your last post you lose 3.5 hours of your 70. With the shorter days on line 3/4 and more time on 1/2 you can have your nap and then later just take 8 hours if you want. It takes some thought and practice but will allow you to shower when you want, eat regularly, and still drive the hours. The 3.5 hours you lose in the reset just roll into the next day. It does work.

I got lost! I bet if I saw it on paper, I would get it!

How do I log less time on line 3 when They need me to drive 550-650 miles in a day? (of course, that doesnt happen every day) like I said I got lost!

What was odd was it was only on 1/3 of the circumference of the tire, not all the way around! It was wore down WAAAY past the wear marks and it will be in the cords soon. The T/A advised my company (arent they great?) to replace the tire and fix whatever was causing the wear. The company refused! Told the mechanic to tell the driver to move on down the road! Rather than spend a little money out here, they decide to put what might be an unsafe truck back on the road. Nothing I said would change their mind, I wonder what the boys in the scalehouse would say about that tire???
They would say driver you are not going anywhere till this gets fixed. You may cost yourself some time but it would get the problem fixed.

Hey Truckerdave1970 about the front tire, I used to run for Wolfe Trucking out of Van Nuys CA and they would have at least replaced the tire, and I thought were a worse Company and a lot smaller!!!

Getting put out of service by DOT will be bad as well. The true thought is that if the truck can be put out of service for it, it should not be driven in the first place.

it's better than dave taking the hit for knight's cheap-azzed ways. i just recently spent nearly 4hrs on the side of the road in wyoming because they didn't want to open up my fuel card to let me refuel. instead, they believed with a beer load, that i could have made it to salt lake city on 3/8 full. their logic is far beyond flawed. i suppose they enjoy spending a LOT more money on road service, and only to be topped off on the spot, anyway.

Amen to that! Trailer tires, I might try and stretch to a terminal or tire bank. Drives, I generally don't have to worry about. But if I've got a steer going bad for whatever reason, I will not drive it until it's fixed. Period.

Well, I have qualcommed my concerns, txted my dispatcher the pics I took, stopped at a T/A repair shop and they advised the company to xhange the tire and still they insist that I continue to run and they want me forgo repairing the tire at our SLC terminal and take another run to Idaho Fall!!! Not this driver, they wont take care of their equipment? Fine, next stop, the nearest scalehouse!
Now if I do that will the DOT man nail me with a fine or just nail the company?
