I to have decided that otr is over for me, no more, from now on its a local driving job only going within 50 to 70 miles of home and be in my bed at home everynight or i will find something else to do, its just not fun to drive a truck anymore.

I've been doing this for 3 years now, and the company makes all the difference.
First company was a starter company who held your hand and mandated everything you did.
Current company is a private fleet that gives you a trailer number, the bills, and tells you to call em for the back haul. If they don't have one, you come home empty, getting paid hub miles all the way. Weekends off don't suck either.
It was actually a big shock when I first started with this company. I went from having everything dictated to me, to being on my own.
It isn't perfect, but no job is. I get aggravated at 'em on a weekly basis, but show me a company that you don't get aggravated at. It's how you approach the job you are in, as to how happy you are going to be doing it.

Actually made more money than I had at anytime in my trucking career. Got hurt in a non work related accident that led to me being laid off. Unemployment wasn't cutting it so I sucked it up and went back OTR in May, something I hated to do because, you know, I actually had a life for once!

So enjoy having one less space taken up in a truck stop there super trucker. This part timer will be thinking of you when I am having a beer after a long 10 hour day and maybe 200 miles.

Enough said!!! Alot ppl cant say that, or tryin to get like that.. Its a cycle, until u know deep down u are done with it you'll always come back.. But with that gig u got going now, why be otr!! Its pointless really.. Keep pulling that gas biscuit... Get it done and go in sleeper or truck stop... Nooooo!!!!, get it done and go HOMMMEEE!!! LOL
