Yeah these companies are making money hand over fist and all at your expense if your a lease driver. It's not a good deal and it really only favors the company in the long run.

And what is worse is if your a newbie and don't know as much as you should then you really get stuck. For some people this type of program works but I think there are many more out there that is hasn't worked for than for those it has...

Well no pun intened to anyone in a lease but it's the dumbest mistake you could ever make. By the time you make the payment and other BSs at the end of the week and by the time you boil down all the other BS involved along with the normal thing's we company driver's do and look at your pay check(if you even got one) and ask yourself, was it really worth all that extra BS to make a couple hundred more a week than a company driver?

go here and tell me where these lease/fleece drivers make MORE than a company driver! my 25 week W-2 Proof an LPs getting bent And the sad thing is after I made this thread not a single big time L/P driver has posted a W-2 to prove they are making money! I know it's embarrassing to think you're an Owner Operator but can't man up to the fact that you are getting bent by that bottom feeder leasing company! As i said SHOW ME! ROFLMFAO!

I know of a truck dealer that has a lease program. If you have the down payment, payments are in the 1200- 1300 range/ month. Down payments are in the 3500 - 4500 range. Most are 2 year payoffs and a few aree 3 year payoffs. The truck is yours at the end of that time. You can lease it to whomever you want or get your own authority. No percentages just make the payments.

Thats about the ONLY way to do a lease. All that's needed is a good company to sign on with that has good freight and trailers and go with it or get your own trailer and get your own freight that way BUT in both of these scenarios you need a operiating capital to tide you over paying bills untill your statements/BOL's start coming in on a regular basics. Only good buisness practice there is.

By the time you pay off a lease you are stuck with a broke down truck in need of serious $$$.
You have to think about medical insurance and retirement. Neither of them you get with a lease.
These companies paint pretty pictures and get you to lease. Then when they are ready, your miles drop and life becomes hell until you quit. Advantage trucking company. Heck even my company will take the trucks nobody wants and helps some sucker obtain financing through Paccar. Eventially they get tired of all the repairs and turn the truck in.

When things seem too good to be true, they usually are.
