Beacon Journal staff report

FedEx Corp. eliminated all of its information technology staff — 74 people — on April 3 at its two Embassy Parkway sites in Bath Township, according to paperwork filed with the state of Ohio.
The Memphis-based trucking and delivery giant earlier this week acknowledged its FedEx Corporate Services offices in the Akron area would be included in 1,000 job cuts corporate-wide, but had declined to provide specifics.
In a filing received Thursday at the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, FedEx said its moves will affect 122 Akron-area employees at 3925 and 3875 Embassy Parkway, with 48 people being ''redeployed'' elsewhere.
The company said in a Worker Adjustment Retraining Notification (WARN) filing that it needed to cut the jobs because of current business conditions.
