Could Toyota's Prius be banned in US? Quote: Could the Prius and other Toyota hybrids be banned from the U.S.? It seems unthinkable, but that's one possible ending to a patent investigation launched this week. This case centers around Paice, a tiny Florida company that has patented a way to apply force to a car's wheels from the electric motor or the internal combustion engine. Paice thinks that Toyota (TM) is infringing on its technology, and is going after the automaker in court. Sounds like in a roundabout way Obama is trying out his protectionist policy. That's brilliant. He want automakers to increase fuel efficiency but he may ban these hybrids? Good Lord... __________________ Do your part to combat global warming. EAT A STEAK!

Paice smells a rat jumping ship. And is attempting to profit from it, while they can. Toyota announced less than 3 months ago, the Prius was doomed. They're leaning toward another technology. Being the "conspiracy" nut that I am. I suspect this is an attempt to force Toyota to keep the tech alive. With the threat of a lawsuit, and possible monetary awards if they attempt to pull the Prius line. The Government tells Toyota...play ball we make it go away.
