I'm trying to get things up and running and wanted to see what everyone's thoughts are about carrier programs with LS and CH? The good, bad and ugly?

Good options but dont rely on them for primary source of income..........IMO find out where you like to run and find a broker that has loads there and do a good job for him/her and they might keep using you even if someone cuts your rate........another good idea is to just walk in the places of business around where you live if there are any and talk to the person over the logistics department and see if they will give you a try with some of their overflow work......i guess the main thing im trying to say is dont depend solely on load boards for revenue.

We're doing ok with CHR. They pay on time and you get fuel money as soon as you pick the load up. Not so good as your only source of revenue but you won't starve.

Finishing up orientation at Landstar today. I worked here back in 2008 right when freight rates dropped out. So far the loads look good that I've seen for stepdeck.
RFI Thanks this. -
You can read the many posts I've made on Landstar that tell what you get paid. Are you wanting to lease on as a BCO or just become an approved carrier? Knowing that will help me be able to answer your questions better.
