Socket set, screwdriver set, miscellaneous wrenches including huge crescent. Brass for airline fixes. Crimpers/strippers with connectors. Spare belts, crow bar 3 lb sledge. Utility knife to cut airline and fix correctly. Tape measures, not for fixes for measuring od loads. Quit caring air gauge as they've all vibrated apart, and probably a bunch more crap I haven't used lately

dang you lose tank caps on a regular basis??

I was wondering about that also.

He hauls gas cylinders if I remember correctly.
A cordless DeWalt with a socket adapter and a foot or two of extensions can make some real hard jobs easy. -
what kinds of things do you use a drill with?

AZS, Mommas_money_maker and SHC Thank this.

Heck I know a guy who carries the whole 18v cordless kit (drill, circular saw, etc) with him along with tons of air tools, jacks and big sockets and wrenches. Its nice to be in the same area as him when you got a real problem.

I have a tool box as big as can fit in my sidebox. I carry pretty much everything you would need to reasonably repair a truck. I carry a cordless drill too. Some more unusual things I carry....Tape measure, nails, bolts, screws, bolt cutters, filter wrenches, bbq grill, fishing pole, small tackle box, folding chairs.
cheflee Thanks this. -

I run across an old flatbedder every other week or so. I talk to him about every time I see him. I saw him on the side one nite and pulled over to check on him. When I walked up to his door, a deafening sound from an electric air pump was coming from in the cab. He lost his air compressor, so he took his small battery powered air pump and used it to charge his system. I'm not too sure how he had it rigged into the system. He'd drive until he got a little low, pull over and charge it again.
He told me he had it and he'd be fine. He went into the next town, waited on a shop to open. He bought the compressor and installed it himself in their parking lot. He said, "Yeah, it was kind of a pain, but I made it into town before a tow truck would've ever gotten there" Saved him a butt load of money, too.
