wisconsin tilt trailer

    im looking at buyin a wisconsin tilt trailer it has 3 hyd cylinders under it and hooks to the wet kit on the truck its got a valve on the trailer the guy said it lets the ramps up and down but he didnt no what rases the bed he said win he let the ramps down and pull a pin on the trailer he would start to pull his dozer on it and the trailer would tilt up slowly and win he got up so far it would slowly go down and he would pin it back has anybody had dealings with the trailers thanks

    I believe that the Wi. DNR used those trailers for their firefighting bulldozers. I think the hydraulic ramps were just an add on so guys didnt hurt their backs flopping the ramps. It is just a tilt top trailer. It works like a seesaw. If it is loaded you put the ramps down, undo the pin and just back off. When the center of balance gets past the axles the the trailer top tips up as you go backwards. To load it you just drove up the ramps and onto the deck and when the weight got forward of the axles the trailer top tips down and you lock the pin, flip up the ramps and after securing you were ready to go.

    well whats with all the cylinders to raise the bed and the control valves i would guess the cylinders would raise the bed there is 3 and there purty big

    The cylinders might be so the bed doesnt slam up or down. I have only ever used one of this type.
