I would HIGHLY recommend to you that how "beautiful" a load looks does not mean it is safe to roll down the road by any means. Let me put it another way, your family is driving down the road and a driver and their pretty load falls off on to your families vehicle hurting or killing them. God forbid. How do you think you will feel? Strap that freight down, twist the strap to keep it from flapping in the wind, from you constantly having to get out and tighten it down, not mention it does help secure your load better.........Good Luck

Picked up a load of air chillers and only one of the five drivers there put a twist in the straps. They were all double stacked and you don't want the straps very tight.
Strange.

i hauled shingles for 5 years. GAF out of bridgewater nj. never twisted a strap unless I was to lazy to str8n it out. vee boards were required to pull the load. some guys didnt even use that and the top bundles were always damaged but the customers hardly ever noticed.

DOT can "interpret" laws however they want, of course they wont cite you for it... They'll do you a "favor" and only issue a warning (because they know its not really a law). Which you cant fight in court and it goes on your CSA without you being able to defend yourself in court... Pukes.
