I worked for Ken Brull out of Pierre,SD back in '97-'99. I loved the harvest and still really miss it. I remember seeing a few guys with double combine trailers (2 combines on one trailer)...those things were pretty scary looking going down the road. I still haven't seen a load sway as much as those did. We primarily pulled a pintle hitch trailer behind our Freightliner FLD120 (normally it yanked around one of the grain trailers) or Ford straight truck with a grain box. With the ford we slide the head into the box, hitched up the trailer, and loaded the machine. Also we ran around the last year with a "a frame" combine trailer. That trailer felt more stable since the axles were solid mounted and the machine sat only about 4in off the ground. Dang, now I really miss the harvest run.

I think its about 110 from the front bumper to the back of the head. Never actually measured but its a 33' combine trailer and the head is a 40'er.
We are actually cutting up in Pierre right now
