When I worked for them I made it into Michigan a few times. I did go to the Toledo area quite a bit with them but I don't know how close you are to that. As for getting you home that really depends on your fleet manager. Mine sucked I would stay out for 3 to 4 weeks so I could get some decent home time. It never failed when my home time came due he'd get me a load on Fri. that would get me home late Fri. or early Sat. but had to deliver 0700 Mon morning 300-400 miles away. Giveing me 24-34 hours for home time. I would always tell him I wanted to drop it at Cincinnati terminal and go home for my 3 to 4 days. He would tell me to deliver it Mon morning and he'd get me back home Mon. night for a few more days. I would tell him I didn't want to split my home time like that and, I would usually have to cause a huge stink to get my home time. But that was my dispatcher there where plenty of guys I talked to that loved there dispatchers.

Most of the dispatchers there seemed pretty good. I would say if you work with them they'll work with you. With you living on the outskirts of there hiring area you might be able to work it out where you stay out 2 weeks and get 3 days at home. That way you both benefit from the deal, he doesnt have to work to get you home every weekend and you get an extra day of home time.

A Monday load that early and that far out sounds like a bad deal. You have to either leave Subday afternoon to log a break and have hours available after the delivery or sleep all day Sunday and drive all night. Either way, your family time is over Sunday afternoon.

I live in the Lansing area. Toledo is around 120 miles from my house.

Yeah most guys that go home every weekend go home under a load. Most of the time with them you will be leaving on Sun. to deliver Mon. morning. One other really annoying policy they had when I worked there was you had to leave where you could deliver first thing Mon. with a fresh 10hr. break. They did'nt care if you needed a restart or not as long as you had the hours avalible to get there you had to go. So then all week your either running on recap hours or you have to take a 34 after you deliver Mon. morning.

I could understand that policy for an appointment but they enforced it on open receiving as well. There policy was any shipper that was open receiving was an automatic 0700 appointment. It's very frustraiting to be 6-8 hours shy of a 34 and have to leave. When you could have taken off early Mon. morning made your delivery and had a 34

I've delivered in Michigan and picked up there several times. But there are plenty of freight in Ohio and Indiana to get you home and back out.

Are the miles constant? I'll probably end up giving them a try. It's hard to leave a company I've been with for 6 years but USX has nothing worthwhile in my area other than dollar stores. The money's good but I'm ready for a change of scenery.

I average about 2000 miles a week... It depends on how hard you run and wether or not you stay out for a weekend
