They seem to be a good company to work for as they have been voted one of the top carriers by drivers. They are on the cutting edge of some new technology with rail decks, have well maintained vehicles and good equipment. You should do well.

I was with Mercer for 3.5 years myself pulling my own flat hauling all the stuff the other guys would not haul. I did fantastic but then the wife asked me to try and be home more so i came home at the end of january and have not hauled a load since i am pretty miserable. But I am gonna buy a reefer trailer this week and go do some short haul reefer work. Got to keep the wife happy.

Ramkatral hit it dead on, if you can handle bouncing along at 59mph all day then you'll be ok. From what I've heard is they are a very good company to drive for, but that governed speed is horrible. I keep my truck between 60-63 and I pass Boyd Trucks all day long. I honestly give kudos to ANYONE driving a governed truck because I couldn't do it. Sometimes a driver just pisses you off and you have to mash it on by them LOL

I could drive a governed truck. as long as it was governed by my right foot. :yes2557:

I know. It's funny because I drive at the same speed of most governed trucks. But it's by choice. Take that choice away and I'd pull my hair out going those speeds......guess I'm a control freak lol
