going to the dark side for a day
I guess my dispatcher needed me to help her out and pull one of our van trailers around on monday, oh boy I don't know what I'm going to do, I never pulled a van before in my life. Atleast I wont have to tarp anything for a day.

I pulled a step deck all week, and Friday I hooked to a reefer and bumped 3 docks and then backed it onto the same pad at the same spot to unhook.
Pretend it's a curtain side, and you'll be fine.

When I get stuck with a van I tarp it, makes it look better.

Logan , just take your time backing in , if you can try not to blindside it if possible go slow , if your unsure get out and look , don't ever feel that it looks foolish to others to get out ,even us truckers who have years in the biz get out and look. Once in the lane go easy and don't bang the dock those hinges are meant to breakaway on purpose on the doors as you must know and break very easy . Good luck , you will do just fine .

Don't forget, it has doors too. Open BEFORE backing to the dock, close AFTER leaving the dock......

I pull around alot of high loads 8', so i wasnt worried about the sight issue as much as I was docking, I bang docks all of the time in my flatbed but some vans dont yall have to slide your tandems back before you dock?

yes sometimes you are required to slide tandems, i try to do this just prior to bumping dock , after i am square and in lane.

When you open the doors, stand back, especially if you didn't close the doors at the shipper.
