Sitting here in Satuma, AL looking for a decent load to a decent area. I may here until tomorrow. Everything I see goes from my bad area to another bad area. Time for a nap.

The load I wanted for $2.50 a mile went away. The customer insists on a 53' step. Mine is only 51'6" :biggrin_25511:

You're telling me! The radiator in Eloy, then I get home and my right steer axle wheel seal is leaking, so I tear it down and redo it and decide to tear the driver's side down, too, as the oil is looking burnt. Found the wrong size bearing on the inside. Someone misread the number and put a 212049 on the inside, instead of a 212047. While both are the same thickness and use the same race, the 047 has an inner bore of 2.50" and the 049 has an inner bore of 2.62". .012" of slop. I'm lucky it didn't burn the outer bearing, the spindle, or the hub and lose that wheel going down the road. I know which shop did that, but I don't know if they, or the vendor that changed the race, supplied the wrong bearing. I'm sure they would fix it under warranty, but, I'm sure they would want one of their shops to do it, not me.
I fixed it myself. I had a local machine shop change the race out, the right way, as I do not mix new bearings with used races, or vice versa. He has a machine that is like a wire welder, with multiple wires out of the head. He used it to heat the race, then flipped the hub over and the race just dropped right out. He then shot the new race with liquid nitrogen, freezing it, and it fell right into place, then let it warm up and regain its original dimensions, making it tight in the bore of the hub (gotta wear some really thick gloves to play with that stuff). This is the proper way to change races in an aluminum hub, not pressing them. Pressing can work, but it can also crack the hub and I don't need to spend the money and time finding a part with an obsolete number, in the aftermarket, as Volvo no longer carries it. We also threw the hub on a machine to clean up the seal bore from nicks and burrs caused by people previously pressing races and studs. We did not mess with the original bore dimensions, just took out the burrs so the seal would start and drive in straight.
I took the brake shoes off and cleaned the backing plates and spindles and mic-ed the spindles at the bearing and wheel seal surfaces, to check for roundness. Checked the fit of the bearings on the spindles, before setting them into the hubs (this is what the previous shop did not do, or they would have caught that oversize bearing), then oiled the bearings and races with Lucas Hub Oil, before reassembling. Set the inner bearing and drove the National Oil seal home, with the proper driver and set the hub on the spindle and installed the outer bearing and the inner nut. Torqued that to 200lb/ft, while spinning the hub, forward and back. Backed the nut off 1 full turn, then retorqued the nut to 50lb/ft, while turning the hub both forward and back. Then turned the nut back 1/2 turn. Then installed the washers and outer jam nut. My outer jam nut calls for 200lb/ft to 300lb/ft of torque. This is where most shops stop and call it good.
However, if you read all the manuals, they also state that you should have an end play measurement of not less than .001" and not more than .005". Every single shop that I let do this, did not check the end play and I have lost bearings either because they were too loose, or too tight. I got my dial indicator out of my trusty Summit Racing Cam Degreeing Kit and checked them myself, on this installation. I found that I had to play around with both the inside nut and outside nut to get the proper end play, as the original end play from torque alone would not meet this requirement. I ended up with .002"-.003" end play on the driver's side and .0025"-.004" on the passenger side. Hopefully, this will be the end of messing with my wheel bearings and seals, for a good long while.

As to my pump and injectors, it has been quite a while since they were gone through and I've been overfueling, lately, with fuel dilution of my oil. As Pittsburgh Power had originally built them for me and no one around here can match their settings, I pulled them and sent it all to Saxonburg. I was hoping they would be done and ship them back last Wednesday. But, they didn't get done until Friday morning, as my pump housing was worn out and needed replaced. So now its just a matter of waiting until Fedex delivers, tomorrow. We'll install them all on Wednesday and test run it, then drain the oil and drop the filters. I'll let it drain, over night and drop in fresh oil and install new filters the next day.
Been watching the loadboards and it doesn't look like I'm missing much. So, hopefully it'll pick back up and the weather will start improving shortly after I come back out.
I also threw my gas generator back on, as I'm tired of idling and doing without 110V capacity. But, since I got rid of the rack, under the side of the trailer for it, and used that spot for a 2'X2'X6' box, I threw it up on the deck of my headache rack and strapped it down.
