I've been lucky staying I-10 and south considering. Got a weekend load from Tyndall, 15 miles from where my last LTL dropped, to Jax FL Air Nt'l Grd. Then got a multi stopper 10 miles away back to Houston with stops in Mobile, Jefferson and Houma. Called my stops this morning after I got loaded only to find they are all shut down for FAT TUESDAY. Call broker, " how much do you need for sitting a day", I say I start at $450. He calls shipper and comes back to me with $350 and I say well OK. I expected them to only cough up $250. Been staying a nice margin over $2/mi on load board freight too. Over 3 on the gubbamint load. Broker paid me more than they were getting. He made money on the other sucker who ran the other load. "weekend loads pay more?" He said a bad word when I told him what I got for a rate.
So I get paid to go to Mardi Gras in Mobile. I was hoping to get Mobile off so I could spend MG in the Vieux Carre. Been over a decade since my last excursion to that hotbed of fornication.
Then I need to get home and throw my air conditioner on the truck, man this sweating sucks! It hit over 80 in Corpus last week.
Where is everyone?

Logan, do you have a green Pete now? Passed who I thought to be you going south on 28 this morning, I was headed north to Freeport. It was one of those awkard stares across the road like "that's got to be him", but instead of pick up the radio I just kept going. If it wasn't you, then I guess me and one of your co-workers just shared an awkard staring contest then.

I am never geting out of Los Angeles, talked to a broker about an overweight and tarped load to New England for less than $2 including permits. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
