Welcome to the working side of trucking! The tarp job looks great but those aren't steel tarps. Look like 6' drop lumbers to me. 30-45 mins is average time for strapping and tarping. It seems the smaller loads take longer, but then all I have are 8' drop lumber tarps. You'll find it's not how fast you work but rather how efficient you are. Circling the trailer 5 times is a big time waster.

30 to 45 minutes? That one looks like a good 2 hour job to me and if I don't circle the rig at least 50 times, I feel like I left something undone! The hotter it gets, the slower I go.

Excellent. That is two tarps right? Looks seamless, of course it could be the angle.

Great securement, that's the way to do it, 2 front, 2 back, spaced in between every 10 feet..you've got 40k securement. Excellent and nice corners and fold on the back too.

One question, I see a little space there at the right corner and what almost looks like a pallet edge. Are these steel tubes on pallets? Asking, cause if they are, they needed to be chained/strapped down to keep them from moving under the load.

Yes, that is 2 tarps, you can see the seam right above the new bright yellow 4" strap in the middle. And no, these aren't on pallets, they are 30' long pieces of 1/4" wall 12" square tubing sitting on 4"x4" blocks. Crst requires 2 straps 4' from the ends and a strap every 8' though I know the regs say 2 straps 5' from the ends and 1 every 10'.

Oh, and I don't own any 6' drop lumber tarps. I have two 16x26 steel tarps and two 24x27 lumber tarps.

Oh, and my log book says a full 1.5 hours for the load. I was there a half hour getting loaded then an hour strapping and tarping. But I knew I was getting home for the weekend and getting a reset in...not that I would ever fudge my logbooks anyway

I think he has a very good question with that. Any info. for a driver just starting flatbedding is always good input.
