    Ramps or no ramps?

I just picked up my new trailer today and trying to decide if I am going to put my ramps on it or sell them. Pretty much the only thing I have used them for is load levelers. Its probably one of those deals where if I sell them I will find a bunch of loads that I would need them for. If I keep them then I will probably just haul them around for nothing. Those of you who have ramps do you use them that often?

That is a hard one to say.... I never see loads requiring ramps specifically. But since you already have them, it's not costing you anything to keep them. But by selling them you free up some money for maybe some new chains, tarps or whatever you actually use more. If I were you, and you have not used them in say the last 9 months, then I doubt they will serve you any use in the future since you've been getting along just fine without them.

Man ive got ramps, honestly use them 1/100 loads, but they're freakin handy and mine double as levelers, I will never not have them

Yes, i agree if he does sell them, he needs to get some levelers. that seems t be a must with stepdeck trailers. I just prefered wheeled machinery.

I am not sure if they are useful for Mercer's book of business. None of our regular customers have freight that needs ramps. However, there are times when we could use them for broker loads or for smaller machinery customers. We don't carry them on our company trucks. I have one contractor with his own trailer that carries combination ramp/levelers. I would estimate he uses them once every couple months. Overall, I would say if you already have them keep 'em.

The only loads I have needed them for where machinery loads going to Sun Belt Rentals, as most of their locations don't have a ramp. But they always had one of their trucks there or on the way that we just ran the machine across from my trailer to their's.

Yeah that notation is a joke for skidsteers and minis. Also very expensive...changes it to specialized rate. Although, I was going to bid on some excavators out of NC, but thought that might be a little big to go trailer to trailer.

ive missed out on some gooooood loads comeing out of the house cause i don't have ramps, and a few here and their,

it would make putting trucks on the upper deck a lot less scary, but the cost seems crazy when a tow company will load you for $150 if that is an option

alot of the construction companies i haul trucks and machinery to have a land all or rgn that works as a dock also

I have run some 40,000lb dozers from trailer to trailer.
