I've searched briefly for spare tire carriers for flatbed, but no good luck.

What do you guys run? I want one that will bolt up w/o drilling or welding. Is welding ok?

I've seen a couple that we've installed on our dry vans and it was drilled and installed. Kinda hard to drill through a thick flatbed frame.

    Ideas please?

Look in between the frame in front of front trailer tires. My friend carries 3 tires on those 1-1.5 inch metal pieces and uses a shortened 2inch strap for each

I keep trying to figure this one out also as I have a 53 ft slider spread drop deck and constantly have to move the tire around. I hope someone has some good ideas.

The web is thinner than you'd think.

Drilling a frame is not that hard if you have the right equipment. The shop uses a bucks drill, it is basically a portable drill press with a magnetic base.

Spare tires end up getting thrown in the trash, more than they get used.

Why not just go to the Utility dealer and have one installed? They were offered, and they carry them for your trailer.

I personally wouldn't waste my time with it, as I will only run good name-brand tires anyways. If one blows out, i just have it replaced with a new one. I've had no luck ever with used tires. Unless you are going to carry a jack and impact with you to do the change out on the side of the road yourself, it's just added weight and drag on the underside of your trailer.

My landlord and his partner run a road service business. They see a lot of bad spare tires.
