Was informed today that IL is going to be changing their OS/OD permit system next week. The permits will now require axle spacings, and all loads will now be routed. Currently, anything under 12' wide was self-routing. But now Il will be routing ALL loads..... just a heads up to everyone. they will also be changing their Provision sheets, so you'll need to get those changed out too. And the system change will go into effect next Friday, at which time they will also not issue permits, so if you are going to need them, order them Thursday at the latest since they will be closed down on Friday

I'm wondering if they'll leave the oversize agriculture loads exemption for Sundays.

PLEASE.... they don;t work Holidays, Saturday's or Sunday's, and you're lucky if they even work Mon-Fri half the time.

So talking to a buddy the other day and he got one of the "new" il permits and the speeds on them are ridiculous. Posted minimum speed limit not to exceed 5 mph over it where its posted. Where not posted fastest speed is 35 mph. Total and complete crap.

It's been that way for weight lds. for a long time..
Try doing 35 down the interstate, you get run over...

Then some bridges you have to center line and crawl speed. Kinda like Ia.. 5 mph over bridges on 2 lane roads...
    Pain in the arse
