So I'm hooked to a trailer right now that looks like its bowing in the middle, not up or down.. but to the right.. I have a load of shingles thats off-center to the right by maybe 3 inches. I don't know if its actually bent or just the mirrors and load playing tricks on my mind. If in fact it is bent is that a violation? I've gone all the way up and down under the trailer, no broken welts or cracks in the frame. I have a couple pictures of what it looks like in the mirrors I can put up later

this is a joke right? your looking in the mirror? off center load yeah that would do it. older trailer that has been passed around one rail could be weaker.

an off center load can change everything, and just because you dont see broken welds or bent crossmembers dosent mesn somthing else might not be wrong.

As long as the trailer wheels don't off track more than 3 inchs from the drive should b ok . flats tend to loose more of the arch on right side gives the appearance they are bending to the right . you might want to check the 3inch law i think that's what it is .not positive . Glad to see you are paying attention and did a inspection before asking . keep up the good work . and keep a close eye on the loaders if the first two pallets are not right stop and make him fix it

Most likely the mirrors.... get out and look at it from in front of the truck and behind.

Why not grab some string or rope, and tie it to the front of the trailer while walking to the rear and holding it tight?

find a lot and drive in sharp circles the opposite way of the bend, that should straighten it out
