I pull several different brands of 53' flats and run between 29k (all aluminum) and 32.5k (combo) with my Pete. Don't carry tarps, but have chains. A few of our combos have boxes.

You must have some light petes, I weigh in at over 32k full of fuel with a 48' all aluminum, steel tarps, 3 coil racks, dunnage, and chains. Still trying to figure out what the previous owner used the 300lbs of angle iron for though that I havn't taken out.

And wideglide13 concrete block, drill pipe, plastic pipe, lumber, etc, etc, etc. Not everything has to be tarped in the wonderful world of flatbedding.
