Late to the party and didn’t read thru all the posts, but if your trailer is over 48ft and you have a fixed spread axle then you can buy an annual overlength permit for Florida. I don’t know what it costs now but it only used to be $40 or so. But you can’t (at least you couldn’t when I got my last one in 2016) buy it at a scale. You have to buy it ahead of time and have it mailed to you.
staceydude and cke Thank this. -

You can get FL permits 2 different ways. Classic yellow paper mailed and usable in multiple trucks, or digital online immediately assigned to one vin only.
Long FLD Thanks this. -
You can get an annual permit to cover this if you have fixed axles.
