Saw this yesterday, he blew it off and said it was fine. The front was way worse hanging out past the cab and more twisted.

Wow, not good.

Na man she'll be fine just don't look out the right mirror.

I had a load of laminated sheets shift on me almost as bad as that. I was skeered to go into a left turn too hard,.. thinking my load was going to hit the pavement for sure.
I invested in a couple come alongs and extra ratchets after that. Came in handy a year later with a pipe load that I needed to shift over a bit.
But eesh man. That load you pictured would bug me to no end like that. -
can you guys tell what he didn't do correctly?
-
Alternating pull for one would've helped keep it more level and not move as bad.

yep. i get a load like that. i'll use another strap in the opposite direction. to counter pull from both sides.
if i can find a place somewhere. i'll make a slow hard turn in the opposite direction to help straighten the load. before strapping in the opposite direction.
worse case scenario, disconnect the trailer. put the truck parrallel to the trailer. hook a strap on the leaning side, over the top to the truck. secure strap to truck somehow. (hopefully you got a hand winch). put truck in very low gear and slowly tug on the load to straighten out. same thing a wrecker will do if one has to be called.
saw a wrecker, once, fixing a pipe load on 84 in utah. guy had 4 BIG round pipes. leaning so far to the right. i still have no idea how the top pipe just didn't drop. wrecker had a cable in the front and rear of trailer on right hand side. and pulled the load to the left. with his own cable winch.
the really smart thing, is to recognize which loads have the potential to shift. so you can alternate your straps. and NOT have that problem as you get down the road.
but we all gotta go through the learning curve of getting there to recogniztion.Nic99 Thanks this. -
Why don't they used pipe stakes , just in case ( please comment )
