Just curious as to what people are using for work gloves.
I've been buying the cheap 2-packs from Walmart, and one pair lasts about a week. They fall apart pretty quickly once they get wet with rain or sweat.
I used to be a mechanic, so I've thought about using mechanic's gloves, but I wonder if anyone has found a better solution or a favorite brand.

I use Kinco or Mechanix Wear..

I like the ones that have padding for the back of your hand and are a little thicker in the palm...They hold up well for trucking work and I also use them for wrench'n on my Hummer..

As a mechanic I'm sure you're well aware wrench's slip, they have saved my hands from cuts and getting smashed more than once..

Using these now, so far I like may not go back to Kinco..

    will check those out..

If they are good enough for the oil field they most certainly will hold up to what I'm doing !

Grips used to be darned good back when they came out. I'd take a pair, put em on, soak em in hot water, wear 'em dry then mink oil the hell outta them and they fit awesome and did everything right for years. Last few pair . . .shiez! Don't know what they did but they ain't what they used to be for sure. I'm lucky to get a year outta a pair nowadays. Looking to make a switch, but we all know truck stop crap is just that. Crap. Good thread.

I use about any brand of good quality mechanics gloves in the summer, mostly the CLC ones for building demolition, and Kinco deerhide insulated for winter. Even in the North Dakota cold, my hands are good to go and they don't get as stiff as pigskin seems to.
