Followed this MNDOT tractor trailer down Highway 10 nw of the twin cities today. Are they exempt from the rules the rest of us have to follow?
I'm sending an email to them to ask the same question.
Is MNDOT exempt from os regulations?

Do ya really think a DOT cop in Minnesota is going to enforce OS on MNDOT???
-
Law enforcement is allowed to play on their computers, talk on a handheld phone and drive without a seatbelt. I am asking if anyone knows if DOT is exempt from os rules. -
Only until they kill somebody driving like that, and get the living #### sued out of them.
-
In a word? Yes.
-
I would imagine that they have an exemption.

That blade looks to be right about at head/neck level. Get to close to a car and someone will wind up like the headless horseman.

281ric Thanks this.

How do you think they plow snow. Cut the end of the blade off. Of course they are exempt. Use you head, do you think for a second they will ever answer you?
-
If'n the plow is being USED to plow snow.........yes. Being transported on a trailer..........it's no different than you or I hauling plows anywhere...........they need to suck it up and play by the rules.
