Hello all. If you are brand new to trucking, which of these companies would you choose in regards to training, pay, and potential future promotions (becoming a trainer, owner operator and etc.)? Thank you.

It's all personal preference in my opinion. Each of those companies have their own "perks". I went through the same decision making process a while back. I ended up with Maverick Transportation and don't regret my decision at all! If you can handle driving an auto, Maverick is an incredible company with many options and great people to work with.. Flatbed, glass, temp controlled etc. As stated above, their are MANY threads on the topic. Email/PM me and I can give u info on Maverick if needed.

Thanks southern. I'm leaning towards Maverick. From all the reading on this forum and comparing flatbed companies, i think maverick may be the best bet for a student driver like me. I'll apply to maverick and see what happens.

well, just remember if you try one and it doesn't work out that is definitely proof you picked the wrong one.

This may not help you, but I've been driving for near 26 years. I chose Melton truck lines, they have plenty of mile's and the starting pay for me was descent, plus with the extra pay for other things, like? $40. for tarping/untarping, .06 cpm for hazmat or Canada runs, or the .08 cpm for oversize, Honestly on the tarpping, I'd rather not, $40. wont make or break me, Talked with another driver form a different flatbed company, he said they pay only $25. for tarpping, cant remember what company it was, I get descent treatment, and they get me home when I want to be home
