BTC offers either percentage (personally recommended) or mileage, driver's choice.

    TMC, same deal.

What is a good percentage? When paid percentage as a company driver do you pay for fuel, equipment, etc?

as a company driver a you shouldnt be paying for fuel or required equipment. TMC starts out at 26 for new drivers and 27 for experienced. Pay increases are based on performance up to 32%. I just turned my truck in with TMC and heading over to PGT for a dedicated account on milage. I reccomend TMC, but you cant go wrong with any of those mentioned here

What percentege a company pays isn't quite the right question. One company pays 25% while another pays 27%. The question is percent of what? The rate one company is getting over another plays a big part. That company paying 25% MAY be seeing a significantly higher rate that the company paying 27%, meaning the driver will see better pay at that measly 25%.

Also, what kind of deadhead (empty) distance are you looking at? The big key to running for percentage pay is keeping that trailer loaded. Hauling empty pays nothing, so you get nothing. On the other hand, keeping the trailer loaded ciuld get you higher paychecks at the end of the week than a mileage paid driver will see.

Additionally, how far do you have to haul that load? A load paying $1,000 to the truck will pay you $250 at 25%. Not too bad if you drop that load quick and get on the next one, crap if you have to babysit that load for two or three days.

Running for percentage gives you a small taste of what it can be like to be an owner operator. You get a better idea of what freight rates are like in different lanes. You also get to see what it takes to keep a truck profitable. And if you run the truck profitably, you get a share of those profits.
