Just a question: Would this be a good load to run?

    I sometimes look at various load boards & some companies that broker freight & some of these loads I see look very "decent"(imo), such as...I saw a load a company has on their broker page as a flatbed load, an engine, tarped,weighing 8000#, going 166 miles paying $770. I kinda figured that as $4.64/mile. My question is, would this be considered a GOOD load to run?? Would u take it or not, & why or why not?? Just looking for some opinions.☺

    So many factors….depends on what area of the country its in……And the size of engine…..i would guess more no's than yes's on this one….. because more than likely its gonna be an all day affair….

    Is there another load close to where that one is dropping? Could you load this load early enough in the day to unload and pick up a reload later in the afternoon? There are many factors and everyone's situation is different.

    As has been stated, is there a reload for you local to where you are dropping? $4.46/mi loaded is absolutely fantastic when your bounce is less than 50 miles for your next high paying load, and absolute crap when you have to bounce for 350-400 miles for your next load.

    1.Most important part of picking loads= LOCATION.

    Where is the load going? If youre in a dead zone and it gets you closer to the freight lane, great. If its going farther away, questionable

    2. 2nd thing you look at=TIME. Years ago there were bunches of loads going from Houston to Port Arthur....98 miles for $700. Im thinking, "Dude, I can grab 2 a day and stack the money! $1400 a day/5 days a week! $7grand a week every week? Sign me up!" They were sooooooo slow. Not only could you not deliver two a day, you could only get one every other day. Sure, the mileage pay was great, but the time spent on the load was horrendous. Couldnt make any money on that stuff.

    Thanks for the input guys(gals, if any).This one I think was Illinois to Indiana. I've seen a lot of posts on here that says those are some good areas to run. Last I looked at that board it was gone, but there was another going from Peoria, Il. to Sussex, Wi., 219 miles paying $725.

    Well every one will have their own set mim. rate. Me I look at 1500.00 mim on most lds.
    The reason being like other posters have stated. Time involved and is there freight on the other end.
    Plus that little run may take 2 days to do and then your money per day rate is shot.
    Plus if it's real heavy then I have permit costs involved so the cost will go up to cover the permits..
