So. I am probably changing my mind about CHRobinson. They don't even want to talk to the simple truckers anymore. I feel like I am bothering them. Used to be my favorite brokerage company. Sigh.
And how do they come up with that rate? It's like, we have to be grateful just to be able to haul loads for them.

remember if you're an owner operator or an independent. you have a bottom line that you will haul the freight for and if they don't need it then you don't pull the freight. If they dont like it they can find someone else to take thier load

CH has a new tact. You get the rate agreement but there is no pickup or delivery address. Then they tell you that you have to be dispatched first. If your picking up the load the next morning you call up to get dispatched and they tell you the load was cancelled but you don't get any TONU because you weren't dispatched.

When did they switch over to the TQL model? Is this recent?

Don't know but I won't sign a rate agreement without it saying pickup and delivery address.

TQL, CH"Robbing-son" and others more are in it for their profit, if you don't have the negotiation skills or are tire of trying to pull teeth out of these companies' dispatchers/brokers, then maybe you should look up joinning an all-o/o carrier and leave the hassle to those that think that they make more at tax time..

Never had this happen with CHR. Pu yesterday for them and again tonight and got all info as per usual. Also got decent rates. Had to fight like heck though on tonight's load. It basically came down to here's my rate, pay it or I'll bounce home and drink beer for the holiday. They blinked and I'm glad because I really needed to work and I know there's no beer in the fridge!

Maybe they went back to the old way. I haven't hauled a load for them in over a year.

Screw CH Robinson. The first question they always ask is what is your T number. Its like there running your history to see what rates you have hauled before they tell you anything.
Haven't hauled anything for them in years and have been doing just fine with out them.
