Okay I have had some of my drivers tell me about being mistreated by one of my shippers/receivers and I would like advice about how to handle it. I obviously want to have my drivers back but I would like to address the issue without jeopardizing my relationship with my customer. Also, what are some of the questionable things that you have experienced with some shippers and receivers?

What kind of mistreatment??
Let's start there first. Then we can all jump in and say dump the driver or the shipper. lol -
Nothing unforgivable but I have gotten numerous complaints about this one shipper of mine and a couple of my regular drivers refuse to take go back. Maybe its no big deal I just think I need to have my drivers back in these sorta situations.

yes, and do it right away

What is the complaint? Just a jerk or is it something worse?
How important is the shipper to you? How important is the driver?
Would giving the driver a $50 "sorry you have to deal with this #######, but he is important to our company" bonus make sense?blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Yeah, some shippers/consignees are rude. It could be the security grunt, or a forklift driver or the office girl behind the bullet proof glass ! But, consider all the stuff they put up with daily from not-too-smart drivers showing up. So it works both ways. Your drivers need to deal with it just as they deal with traffic/police agencies/weather/breakdowns etc. That's trucking. Is there anyway you could tag along with a driver for the day to see firsthand what they're complaining about ?
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Lite bug, double yellow, rexmanno and 1 other person Thank this.
