Thanks for the advice! That is what I'm gonna do, it's so frustrating do these people really think we arbitrarily decide where we are gonna deliver a load to?

So now what is my recourse with Uti? I mean this woman is just telling me "well according to the shippers paperwork they gave you the right address". To me that's a crock, because nowhere aside from the handwritten bol does it show any address that we can see, nor does the shipper have anything from us aside from the hand written bol with our signature proving that we were given an address different from the one we were given.....Seems to me if she wants to keep the shipper as a customer then she should eat the $150. -
Oh and the shipper and reciever are the same customer.

Again I thank you! -
this happened to me once,
I demanded an adjusted rate due to someone other than my company rerouted the truck "in route"...
costing me $ to reroute and pick up the loads..it had 2 pick ups with about 400 miles in between them...
After discussion of not paying me,
I got the brokers Bond Info,
Bond Number, Contact person in LA, called them to conform of the correct contact at the Bond Company..
Then called the broker/shipper and informed them if a new conformation sheet was not sent to me , I was going to file a claim on their bond...
Make sure when you do this , if you are going to file a claim,
that you have ALL paperwork, address's IN WRITING ...
(which we do for every load, anywhere, anytime)this a must when filing a claim against a bond company...
When they received this request via email ( again in writing) ,
I received a new Rate conformation sheet within the hour,
and was paid via COMDATA express code upon completion of the delivery..
Brokers don't want multiple claims on their Bond..
But , if you do this, you probably will never haul for that company ever again...
This is a business,
not some bxxxxxxt game to deliver someones freight ...

CTS files for bankruptcy; Tampa Tribune
TAMPA - Cargo Transportation Services, a $100-million trucking company with operations in the Tampa Bay area, filed for bankruptcy in a hurry this week after its bank cut off its funds. A third of it's business is hauling Produce -
their revenue difference could be attributed to the major differences in trucking rates ltl vs tl rates ltl can have some ridiculous rates
-
Could also be a lot of brokerage business. Guy by me has 4 trucks and 15 employees. While trying to build direct business he found it easier to broker the loads than keep 15 trucks going. That would be my guess if the figures are correct.

And the rate is the rate. Learn what a lane is paying, be resonable, you may talk to 15 brokers before you get one that has ethics. And you may have to take a load from them at a lower rate to get them to work with you. Only doing this O/O thing a short time but already I take very few loads from brokers off boards coming from home. I send an email saying when I'm looking to reload and get good rates.
