My internal wiring on the company truck was bad. The CB shop wanted a bit of money to trouble shoot it, not to mention the down time. I doubted if my company would pay for the repair, so I chose this quick fix.

He said he just got this quick fix solution a week ago. Maybe it is not new but I thought I would pass it along.

Take the upper forward bolt out of the mirror mount and replace it with this stud. Then use the regular bar style clamp for your antennas.

I had to run the coax in through the door. But at least my CB is up and running. I can probably fit the satellite antenna on it as well.

There are a few guys where I work that use that option rather than the factory set up. Honestly, I think it works better, from the limited experience I've had jumping from truck to truck and using their radios and external antennas as opposed to putting my craptastic 35 year old Midland on the dash and sharing the antennas with the stereo. When I get my own truck, I may just buy that stud myself.

I was also thinking along those lines. It will travel with me quite easily...
